I have extremely dry hair so sleeping with a satin or silk scarf is a must since these do not dry out hair as cotton would, but lately I’ve been thinking about getting a silk pillowcase instead since it can be difficult to keep scarfs on my head. I’m also trying to go the minimalist route with my hair care products and a silk pillowcase just makes the most sense for me as opposed to a scarf.
Which is why I was thrilled to see this Drybar Slumber Party Silk Pillowcase at Sephora.
This 100 percent natural silk pillowcase is designed to extend your blowout. The finely woven silk fibers allow hair to glide smoothly over the surface, preventing friction, which tends to cause breakage, frizz, and bedhead. Unlike cotton, silk does not strip hair of its natural moisture—and it’s great for all hair types and textures.
This silk pillowcase definitely sounds like something I will have to invest in for my dry natural hair since I am more or less over having to wear a scarf every night. I would just like to lay my head down every night without having to go through some ritual to protect my hair.
I would think that a silk pillowcase would also be good against the face as opposed to cotton.
This Drybar Slumber Party Silk Pillowcase is available at Sephora for $45.
