There are so many subscription services out right now and you would think that the thrill would be gone but there are still more that are being launched and people seem to still be excited about them. One of the new subscription services is the Essence Beauty Box which released their first box in October 2015 so November will be their second.
While there are many subscription services, only a few cater specifically to people of color and include Curlbox, CurlKit, Onyx and a few others so Essence Magazine is not entering a crowded marketplace for subscription services targeted to this segment of the population.
The Essence Beauty Box features 5 products (mainly samples) curated by Essence beauty editors which range from hair, makeup, skin care as well as fragrances with at least one product being from an independent black-owned business which is great to not only support black business but also try products you wouldn’t normally seek out.
The Essence Beauty Box costs $15 per month and you can either pay monthly, semi-annually or annually with the annual package saving you a bit of money as it works out to $13.50 per month. Free Shipping comes with whatever package you select.
The above is what was included in the debut October Essence Beauty Box and included the Curls Creme Brûlée, Eden Bodyworks Coconut Shea Leave In Conditioner, L’occitane Shea Butter Hand Cream (love this!), Calvin Klein Eternity Now and Tarte The Brow Architect.
Overall these were great products and great sizes. And the box is pretty.
Will you be signing up to receive the November Essence Beauty Box? If so you will need to sign up before the end of this month. Click here for more information on this subscription service.
