I have mentioned before that although I use various formulations of foundation such as liquid, powder, cream, etc, a foundation stick is my favorite way to apply foundation. A while ago, I couldn’t contain myself when I discovered this LANCOME Teint Idole Ultra Longwear Foundation Stick and I can’t wait to get my hands on it and a review will definitely be coming.
It was exclusive to Sephora and I thought it would remain there but I saw today that it is slowly spreading to other avenues such as HSN (which doesn’t have all the darker shades). Sephora has all the shades including the darker shades.
The LANCOME Teint Idole Ultra 24H Longwear Liquid Foundation is a Holy Grail foundation for many and although I have never tried it, it has always been on my list to try but thank goodness I waited because a stick foundation is more my speed although I still do wear liquid foundations frequently. I just think stick foundations are so easy to use for me and you can also easily use them for other purposes such as contouring, concealing and highlighting. It is also easy to get the coverage you need with a foundation stick.
As always, LANCOME does a great job with shades for darker skin tones and although I am planning to get 555 Suede C from the above swatches of this LANCOME Teint Idole Ultra 24H Makeup Stick, I am thinking that it may be too dark for me and that I may be somewhere between 555 and 550 but hopefully not which means that I will probably have to test these shades in a Sephora store first before.
The liquid foundation does seem to have more darker shades but there still is a good shade range with this LANCOME Teint Idole Ultra Longwear Foundation Stick. And the foundation stick is a little cheaper than the liquid foundation which retails for $47. This stick foundation retails for $42.
The bad thing though is that you do get a lot less product with this LANCOME Teint Idole Ultra Longwear Foundation Stick (0.31 oz.) compared to the LANCOME Teint Idole Ultra 24H Liquid Foundation (1 oz.). That is a significant difference in quantity which is not really made up for in the price difference although it costs less so that is definitely something to consider.
But like I said, I can’t wait to get and review this stick foundation and in addition to LANCOME, I do plan on testing out a bunch of stick foundations from other brands to see how they compare in the next weeks/months.
How do you feel about this LANCOME Teint Idole Ultra Longwear Foundation Stick compared to their much raved about liquid foundation? Will you be getting it? Comment below.
