The Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra Wear Camouflage Color Corrector is a new release and though I don’t need any more correctors, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on the orange/red which is designed for those with deeper skin. There are other colors of this corrector to choose from to deal with various skin issues which you can see here.
I love correctors as they make such a difference (when I do use them and I’m not being lazy) with my makeup. This Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra Wear Camouflage Color Corrector as mentioned earlier is made for deeper skin tones to help minimize dark circles, spots and acne scars. I have hyperpigmentation above my lip and from past acne marks. I do use correctors occasionally underneath my eyes but dark circles in this area aren’t too bad and using concealer only does the job.
Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra Wear Camouflage Color Corrector in Orange/Red Review
This ultra-pigmented, full-coverage color corrector hides imperfections. It won’t crease or cake, and it easily addresses the following common skin concerns: redness, dark spots, under-eye dark circles, sallowness, dullness, and acne scars. It blends seamlessly for a lightweight, second-skin feel and a natural finish—a little goes a long way.
ThisTeint Idole Ultra Wear Camouflage Color Corrector is thick and creamy and spreads very easily. Quite opaque which makes it perfect for covering up imperfections. Not much of a scent to it. You only need a tiny bit but even then it can be too much.
ThisTeint Idole Ultra Wear Camouflage Color Corrector does a great job of covering up skin imperfections and mostly stays put although if you’re like me and sweat a lot, some of it may be removed but it still does a great job of withstanding sweat. But overall, of my current correctors, this may do the best job of staying put. It also doesn’t crease or cake up and though thick, does not feel heavy so it is a fantastic corrector.
When I got thisTeint Idole Ultra Wear Camouflage Color Corrector in orange/red, I was expecting an orange/red corrector which always work best on my very dark skin. But this is more peach than orange/red. See a comparison below of my other orange and brick correctors.
As far as this being the orange/red corrector I needed, thisTeint Idole Ultra Wear Camouflage Color Corrector was a fail. It did cover my imperfections but it felt like I was using a very pale foundation as opposed to a corrector. Also, when I took pictures, I could see it peeking through my foundation.
In addition, most times I apply the corrector first and then follow-up with a concealer or foundation. This means that some of the corrector may be moved around by the foundation or concealer and usually I just tap on a tiny bit more of the corrector on top to deal with any gaps. I don’t have a problem doing this with my other correctors (especially my brick corrector) and it’s not obvious but because thisTeint Idole Ultra Wear Camouflage Color Corrector in orange/red is so light, I can’t add any more on top of my foundation to fill in any gaps.
ThisTeint Idole Ultra Wear Camouflage Color Corrector in orange/red is great at correcting imperfections and is long-lasting but unfortunately, it is not for very dark skin. needs to revise their definition of orange/red because this is not it. This is more peach and would work better on lighter skin tones. If peach correctors work best for your skin, this is the corrector for you. As for me, this is going back to Sephora with the quickness.
ThisTeint Idole Ultra Wear Camouflage Color Corrector in orange/red gets low marks from me not because it is ineffective but because the shade is all wrong for my dark skin. It is a great corrector though. If they do come up with a true orange/red corrector, I will have no problem buying it.
