*UPDATE* All 20 shades of this Make Up For Ever Water Blend Foundation are now available at Sephora for $43. (Use code HDFOREVER to receive a deluxe sample of another foundation from this brand – the popular MUFE Ultra HD Invisible Cover Foundation – in a shade of your choice while supplies last after spending at least $25+)

Bored with your current foundation and ready for something new? The Make Up For Ever Water Blend Foundation is set for release July 8 on their official site. This foundation should make its way to the Sephora website around July 22 and to all stores later on in August.

This is a reformulation of the much loved Make Up Forever Face & Body Liquid Makeup Foundation. The glass bottle design is quite similar and they are both face and body foundations. While this is expected to reach Sephora later this month (in store August 5) Sephora still has a few shades of the original foundation left.

This foundation comes in 20 shades from light to dark and is a light weight formula. I think this will be great for those who love serum foundations such as myself. It’s made with 80 percent vitamin-enriched (vitamin B5) water to keep you hydrated in the hot summer heat and its supposed to be waterproof which really makes me want to test it out since I am a profuse sweater during the summer and any makeup that will stay put through the sweat is greatly appreciated..

The reason that I say that it would be perfect for those who like serum foundations besides being light weight is because it provides sheer satiny coverage. Even though it is buildable, if you need full coverage, this is probably not the foundation for you (the Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Invisible Cover Foundation which is the same price as this may be better for you). This is designed to provide sheer coverage.

If you don’t like foundations that provide dewy finishes, this foundation may not be for you either. Most of those with oily/combination skin don’t like dewy finishes so you may want to pass by this foundation. Although I have oily/combination skin, I don’t mind dewy finishes but I think I’m in the minority for those with my skin type.

This Make Up For Ever Water Blend Foundation seems to be hitting everything that I need in a foundation that I would use in the summer – water based, light weight, sweat proof and transfer proof.

While there are some dark shades, I wish there was more variety because there is a significant difference between R520 and R540.

The foundation is priced at $43. Get it at Sephora here.
