*UPDATE #1* – Well black|Up did not meet their 9/1/15 launch (sad face) but per their instagram;
Hi guys! No worries, black|Up is still coming soon at sephora.com; it just have been a bit delayed to the upcoming days. Stay tuned!
In Thank You God news for the day, black|Up Cosmetics will start selling their products at Sephora beginning 9/1/15! If you are a black woman and haven’t been living under a rock, you should already know that this brand is one of the very few high end brands that cater specifically to the cosmetics needs of black woman.
This is a French cosmetics brand that began in 1999 by an African makeup artist with a desire for high-end makeup specifically for black people. As a black woman with dark skin, it is so hard to find a shade that matches not only with high end makeup, but also drugstore makeup especially foundation. It is so annoying to want to try a brand new product that is being raved about only to find one or two shades for darker skin but not usually the very dark skin that I have.
black|Up guarantees that you will be able to find your foundation shade with your right undertone. No ashiness here! They have a great selection of products and I am so excited for their coming availability at Sephora come September! Prior to this, if you lived outside of France, you could only order it online which I just was not motivated to do.
I discovered this brand from YouTube beauty gurus who either bought the products online or were sent the products for review by the company and I have wanted to try their products for a while now without having to order them internationally.
black|Up cosmetics at sephora officially launches September 1, 2005 per the brand’s instagram account. It seems that they will be offering their (complete?) product lineup at sephora.com starting on 9/1/15 as well as ten sephora stores starting from 9/15/15 which include;
- Lenox square
- Lakeside Louisiana
- Mall of Millenia Orlando
- Chestnut St. Philadelphia
- Culver city
Hopefully these physical locations are just the beginning and that more physical locations will be added.
Although I would like to experiment with their foundations, lipsticks, etc, the one item I am most excited to try is their loose setting powder which was so raved about by a beauty guru who had tried various products from this brand that I just have to try it for myself since I am always searching for a good setting powder.
Are you looking forward to this black|Up Cosmetics at Sephora launch like I am?
