I was excited to try the NYX Lingerie Liquid Lipsticks mainly because certain colors (Teddy and Beauty Mark) looked like they would be a great nude lipsticks for those of us with dark skin. In addition to Beauty Mark and Teddy, I also got Exotic which is a soft pink shade. If you’re curious about these lipsticks which are an addition to the many other liquid lipsticks that NYX currently has, here’s my NYX Lingerie Liquid Lipsticks review.
Slip into something seductive with NYX Cosmetics’ Lip Lingerie Liquid Lipstick, a weightless liquid lipstick with a plush matte finish. Available in a range of color-kissed nudes, each sultry shade will coat the curves of your lips with irresistibly creamy color.
Teddy and Beauty Mark are somewhat similar although Teddy looks a little grayish. It does have a bit a a chemical smell to it but it is not too intense and most times I barely notice the smell of these liquid lipsticks.
The wand isn’t my favorite because it’s larger than I would like and I have to be careful when applying the product because it would be too easy to go outside the lines with this large want.
Although I usually put 3 coats (one additional coat after the first two coats dry) on my lips, the first coat does result in an opaque finish so how many coats you apply depends on your preference.
This liquid lipstick is very creamy and very easy to apply. It also takes less than a minute to dry and unlike other liquid lipsticks, you can apply another coat after it dries without the lipstick breaking down and looking awful.
When you first purse your lips together immediately after applying the liquid lipstick, your lipstick will feel smooth but once it dries, the lipstick will feel tacky/sticky once you purse your lips together. Some people may not like this tackiness. The liquid lipsticks from NYX are the only ones I own that feel tacky but I don’t mind this tackiness because I do like this formula because it is not too drying.
What is great about the NYX Lingerie Liquid Lipsticks is that though they dry to a completely matte finish, they don’t feel as dry on the lips as other liquid lipsticks. Your lips will still feel soft.
But just like other liquid lipsticks, they will find EVERY single line on your lips including some that you may not know that you have! The best way I have found to combat this is to apply a lip balm prior to applying this liquid lipstick and by doing this, I not only have the benefit of added softness but the lines on my lips are not as emphasized as they are when I don’t use lip balm.
There is only very slight transfer which is even less if you don’t use a lip balm.
These NYX Lingerie Liquid Lipsticks can last several hours but this depends on what you are doing with your lips. I’ve found that drinking does not affect them much but you have to be careful when you are eating as you may need to reapply this lipstick after eating if you’re not too careful. But sometimes even when you’re careful, the lipstick will breakdown after eating.
But you will need a makeup wipe or cleansing oil to remove this liquid lipstick as it does adhere to the lips.
This is by far my favorite shade. Combined with a dark brown lipstick, it gives me the BEST nude lip I’ve ever had in my life!
This is a second favorite as it also gives me a great nude lip which looks even better with a dark brown lip liner. Sometimes I even combine Teddy with Beauty Mark.
This is such a pretty soft pink (and I don’t usually like pink lipsticks) but I do need a lip liner for a great transition. Reminds me of Colour Pop Liquid Lipstick in Tulle.
I absolutely love these NYX Lingerie Liquid Lipsticks but probably most of all because I finally have the perfect nude lipstick for my dark skin. These are also great color for those with lighter skin tones.
While they do feel tacky once dry and settle into every single line on your lips, they do feel soft after drying unlike other liquid lipsticks and last several hours. They look and feel even better with a lip balm underneath. You also still need to make sure that you exfoliate your lips before applying though (which unfortunately I’m not great at doing).
I definitely plan on repurchasing Beauty Mark (and maybe Teddy) if I do use it up.
