I only recently discovered how wonderful Queen Helene scrubs are in the post that I did here and because I loved the two scrubs that I reviewed in that post, I was eager to try other scrubs from this brand. While browsing online, I happened to notice this scrub and since oatmeal and honey sounded good to me, I decided to get this scrub and with that here is my Queen Helene Oatmeal ‘n Honey Scrub review.

This Queen Helene Oatmeal ‘n Honey Scrub is targeted towards those with normal to dry skin but despite having oily/combination skin, I still thought this scrub would work for my skin.

I have a thing about what the first five ingredients are besides water in products because that usually represents what the product is mainly made up of. Oatmeal and honey are 11th and 15th on the list so they are not that major in this scrub. I also noticed that it contains kaolin clay which helps to cleanse and exfoliate dead skin cells.

Honey is antibacterial and together with oatmeal help to soothe the skin which is why I wanted to try this Queen Helene Oatmeal ‘n Honey Scrub for my oily, acne prone and sensitive skin.

What some people may not like is that this is that it includes parabens so if this is an issue, you may want to avoid this scrub.

The reason that I love Queen Helene scrubs is that the scrubs are finely milled so I don’t have to be worried about them causing microscopic tears in my skin which I am always worried about when I use other scrubs such as the popular St Ives Apricot Scrub.

Although these Queen Helene scrubs are finely milled, I still feel that they do a great job of scrubbing the dead skin cells from my skin.

After I cleansed my skin, I used this scrub on my face neck and shoulders. I gently massaged it into my face for a few minutes and then rinsed it off. No residue was left which is why I have no problem using this scrub after I cleanse. I also use it prior to cleansing my skin and it works equally as well.

Pros

  • Gentle but effective scrub so if you have sensitive skin, this scrub will be great for you
  • Leaves skin clean but still moisturized and not dry
  • The texture of my skin felt smooth
  • Skin looked much healthier and better
  • Inexpensive

Cons

  • Although this scrub is as effective as my other Queen Helene scrubs, I have used it infrequently because of its godawful smell! I am one of those people who is not that sensitive to product smells but i literally have to hold my breath when I use this scrub.
  • Didn’t have much of an effect on my pore size
  • Hard to find offline
  • Parabens in the ingredient list

Overall

Although this scrub is effective, I will not be repurchasing because of the smell so that’s my Queen Helene Oatmeal ‘n Honey Scrub review. I will stick to my other Queen Helene scrubs and avoid this one like the plague!

Rating: 8/10 (it is effective but that smell…)
