First of all, the packaging for this Too Faced Love Light Prismatic Highlighter is to die for and that’s what first caught my attention. There are 3 shades available – Blinded by Light (champagne), Ray of Light (rose gold) and You Light Up My Life (rose gold). See swatches of all three here. I decided that of these three, You Light Up My Life would be best on my dark skin although I’m now curious about what the rose gold shade would look like. With that in mind, here’s my Too faced Love Light Prismatic Highlighter You Light Up My Life review.
Too Faced Love Light Prismatic Highlighter You Light Up My Life Review
Using an exclusive liquid-to-powder formula, Love Light takes the best of powder, liquid, baked and cream formulas to create unparalleled color payoff for a pearl radiance and silky smooth texture. It features a luminosity boosting agent and high pearl consistency that instantly brightens. It delivers gorgeous color payoff with a pearl, radiant finish in universal shades that impart a flattering glow and an eye-catching, metallic shine.
- After opening this highlighter up, it is a beauty but after swatching it, I was a little concerned because it contains tiny bits of shimmer. I didn’t think I would be able to use it during the day but I needn’t have feared because it works for daytime wear. The tiny bits of shimmer are not overpowering and I can still create a subtle glow with this Too Faced Love Light Prismatic Highlighter in the You Light Up My Life shade for daytime wear.
- This Too faced Love Light Prismatic Highlighter You Light Up My Life blends out beautifully even with my finger. For my other highlighters, I usually need a brush.
- It is long-wearing. I can put it on in the morning and I’m still glowing by the end of the day into the night.
- The gold shows up so beautifully on my skin that this Too Faced Love Light Prismatic Highlighter You Light Up My Life is now my new favorite go-to highlighter.
It’s very pigmented when you use your finger to pick up product but if you use a brush, you may need to dip your brush in the pan quite a few times to get the intensity you desire which can be annoying. Especially if you want to glow to the GAWDS! But if you do want it very intense, since it is baked, you may need to try using it with a wet brush.
If you have textured skin, this highlighter will emphasize texture especially if you are using a brush to apply product. I have textured skin and I’ve found that using my finger to lightly blend out the highlighter on certain areas of my skin with texture helps to reduce the emphasis or I try to keep the highlighter off those areas.
As I said, this Too faced Love Light Prismatic Highlighter You Light Up My Life is my current go-to highlighter. It looks so beautiful on my skin and I would definitely repurchase it in the very unlikely event that I ran out of it.
