The cure for everything but death? This is what many black seed oil enthusiasts like to claim and I don’t know if I would go that far but I know it is one oil that I can’t be without and have been taking it internally for many years almost every day. I would like to think it is why I haven’t had many heath issues (knock on wood!) for years. I don’t see it ever being out of my life.
My mom who has type 2 diabetes even thanked me for recommending it to her. I have recommended many remedies to her for dealing with diabetes naturally but this is the only one she thanked me for recommending after incorporating it into her life. If that isn’t an endorsement for the health benefits of black seed oil, I don’t know what is.
I also use it externally on my skin and hair occasionally but because it is a pricier oil than some of my other oils, I prefer to use it internally for my health and well-being. And according to popular belief, black seed oil was a significant part of Cleopatra’s beauty regimen if you do want to use it externally.
What is black seed oil?
Black seed oil is obtained from the black cumin seed (Nigella sativa). Other names for this seed include Roman coriander, fennel flower, black seeds, nutmeg flower, Nigella cretica, etc, but this is not to be confused with black pepper, black cohosh, cumin, nutmeg, fennel essential oil, etc.
Why is black seed oil the cure for everything but death?
The various healing properties of Nigella sativa oil have been used for thousands of years and this oil is usually used topically or orally to fight various diseases and conditions such as type 2 diabetes (the personal recommendation from my mom notwithstanding), epilepsy, boosting the immune system, allergies, colon cancer as well as many other cancers, reducing the risk of heart disease, skin issues like psoriasis, eczema, and so on and so forth.
What is thought to make black seed oil a powerhouse in promoting health and well-being is that black seed is rich in vitamins A, B, and C as well as minerals such as zinc, potassium, calcium, magnesium, and various other trace elements as well as essential fatty acids making it excellent for use internally and externally.
Black seed oil is also able to boost the immune system by helping to regulate the immune cells as well as helping to enhance the body’s ability to deal with abnormal issues which helps to fight various diseases and conditions.
There are so many, many health benefits for using back seed oil that I will cover in more detail in another post but the following YouTube video goes into why you need to be taking it everyday!
I take one teaspoon of black seed oil everyday but if you have health issues, you can take up to 3 teaspoons everyday and though I have tried many different brands, I haven’t looked at any other brand once I discovered Amazing Herbs Black Seed Oil.
